Margaret “Peggy” Penny
1930-2017
Peacefully
at the Dr. John M. Gillis Memorial Lodge on May 10, 2017 the passing
of Margaret “Peggy” (Gillis) Penny, age 86, beloved wife of
the late Peter “Hampton” Penny, occurred with family by her
side. Born in Weymouth, Massachusetts, she was the daughter of the
late Hector and Flostina (Nickerson) Gillis. Peggy will be sadly
missed by her loving children, John (Muriel) Penny, Audrey (David)
MacLeod, Peter (Jennifer) Penny, Lynda (Scott) Annear; cherished
grandchildren, Andrew (Caitlin), Penny (Dwayne Keough), Carolyn (Kent
MacKinnon), Curtis, Matthew, Nick, Rebecca, Thomas, Jessie (Adam
Nabuurs); adored great grandchildren, Abby, Jaelyn, Felix, Lachlan,
Greyson, Gretta; sister-in-law Kathleen Ross; numerous
nieces and nephews. She was predeceased by brothers Jack, Allen, Rev
Raymond, Robert; sister Bettie and grandson Mark.
Resting at Ferguson Logan Montague Funeral Home with
visiting on Friday, May 12th from 5 to 8 pm. Funeral Service to take
place on Saturday, May 13th at 2 pm in the St.
John’s Presbyterian Church, Belfast. Interment to take place
in the Belfast Cemetery. Donations to the Belfast Cemetery would be
appreciated.
