Margaret Minnie Wood
1921-2017
The family of Margaret M. Wood, wife of the late George Thomas Wood,
are saddened to announce her passing at the Dr. Everett Chalmers
Hospital on Sunday, May 7, 2017, after a brief illness. She was born
in Harvey, NB on November 22, 1921, daughter of the late Roy and Lila
(Little) Coburn.
Margaret was a retired elementary school teacher and enjoyed nothing
more than a good game of auction 45 and keeping her genealogy books up
to date. She was a dedicated member of Knox Presbyterian Church, past
member of the church choir, Manners Sutton Sewing Circle and Knox
Ladies Guild.
Margaret is survived by her sons, Peter (Marilyn), Allie (Norma) and
Ross (Cindy), all of Harvey, NB; daughters, Linda (Cameron) Bigelow of
Orillia, ON and Nancy (Dennis) Patterson of Harvey, NB. She was Nanna
to grandchildren: Andrew (Bev) Wood, Dr. Sheldon (Christa) Wood,
Wilson (Amy) Bigelow, Charles (Marcia) Bigelow, Jill (Jeff) Harris,
Julie (Stephen) Estabrooks, John (Karen) Wood, Brent Patterson, David
(Ashlyn) Patterson, Amanda Wood (Jordan) and Sarah (Josh) Lamont. She
was Nanna George to great grandchildren: Jacob (Courtney) and Weston
Wood, Lauren, Hannah and Ava Wood, Xander, Dyer, Jaxon and Anna
Bigelow, Faye Bigelow, Ashley and Ben Harris, Thomas, Will and Claire
Estabrooks, Sawyer and Oakley Patterson. Great great grandson-to-be,
Landon Wood. Her sister Althea Jones, sister-in-law Berneice
Coburn-Messer (Hayes) and brother-in-law, Raymond (Shirley) Mersereau
as well as cousins Paul Patterson and Gordon Coburn and several nieces
and nephews.
As well as her parents and husband, she was also predeceased by her
sister, Shirley Mersereau; brothers, Guy, James and Arnold Coburn and
sister-in-law, Violet Coburn.
Family will receive friends at Swan Funeral Chapel, 1826 Route 3,
Harvey Station, NB on Wednesday from 2 to 4 and 7 to 9 pm. Funeral
service will be held at Knox Presbyterian Church, 2412 Route 3,
Harvey, NB on Thursday, May 11, 2017 at 3 pm with Rev. Anne Boudreau
officiating. Interment will be later at Harvey Settlement
Cemetery.
