Margaret Loretta (McNaught) Steeves
1942-2017
Margaret Loretta Steeves, 74, of Dawson Settlement passed
away on June 27th, 2017 with her family by her side at the
Moncton Hospital after a courageous battle with cancer.
Margaret was born in Saint John on November 2, 1942 the
daughter of the late Phillip and Doreen (Layden)
McNaught.
She was as an accountant and worked with Bruce
Sutherland for 22 years before her retirement. She attended
the Holy Ghost Catholic Church in Riverside-Albert. Margaret
was a member of the Fundy Trail Beagle Club. She loved her
family very much and really enjoyed family gatherings, always
lots of music, stories and laughs. Margaret enjoyed
being able to go on several vacations with her family as well and
treasured all the memories they made. She will be remembered
for her smile and kindness. “What we keep in memory is
ours forever.”
She will be deeply missed by her husband, George Steeves of
Dawson Settlement; son, Craig Weir (Denise) of Riverview; her precious
grandchildren, Thomas and Ethan; sisters, Donna Stuart (Gerald) of
Midway and Monica Rossiter (Earl) of Beaverbrook; brother, Tommy
McNaught (Nancy) of Riverview; step-daughters, Debbie Turner (Simon)
of Huntsville, ON and Cathy Steeves (Mitchell) of Turtle Creek;
step-son, Gregory Steeves (Wendy) of Lindsay, ON; step-grandchildren,
Clark (Amanda), Kelly and Alex; step-great-grandchild, Kaleb.
She will also be missed by several nieces and
nephews.
Besides her parents she was predeceased by brother,
Jimmy.
She will be resting at the Albert County Funeral Home with
visitation on Thursday evening from 7:00-9:00pm,
Parish Prayers and a time of sharing memories will be held
at 8:30pm, A time of visitation will also be on
Friday morning from 11:00am – 12:30pm at
the funeral home. The Funeral Mass will be held at the Holy
Ghost Catholic Church on Friday, June 30th at 1pm with Father Charles
Broderick officiating. Interment will be in the Holy Ghost
Cemetery, Hopewell Hill, NB.
In lieu of flowers donations to the Canadian Cancer
Society, Holy Ghost Catholic Church or charity of the
donor’s choice would be greatly appreciated.
