Margaret Jeanne Cope of Red Deer passed away at Red Deer Regional Hospital on Wednesday, May 10, 2017 at the age of 80 years. Jeanne was born in Red Deer on August 4, 1936. She moved to Edmonton where she grew up. She then went to the University of Calgary, where she achieved her degree on psychology. Ever the avid learner, Jeanne became interested in art and painting and attended Art College in Calgary. Later in life the lord called her and she became a hay minister for the United Church in the province of Saskatchewan. After many years she yearned to return to Red Deer, where she continued her education in the fine arts as well as assisting in teaching. Jeanne is survived by her mother Ella McCann, her two daughters Alux Irene Cope, Susan Ella Cope-Curtis and her sister Kathryn McCann of Faro, Yukon.
