Margaret Florence Osmond
1938-2016
It is with great sadness that the family of the late Margaret
Osmond announces her passing on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at Dr.
Charles LeGrow Health Center, with her loving family by her side. Born
in Port-aux-Basques, she was the daughter of the late Frank and Cecily
(Allen) Battiste. Margaret was the last surviving member of her
immediate family. She is survived by her loving and devoted
husband of 54 years Arch and her daughters, Carolann (Gerard) Battiste
and Wendy (Jason) Anderson, both of Port-Aux-Basques grandchildren,
Mike Battiste, Kyle Anderson and Amy (Brad)
McCullough, great granddaughter, Emma, brothers and sisters in law,
Norm(Marion) Osmond, Roy (Grace)Osmond, Dave (Betty) Osmond, Ronnie
(Joanne) Osmond and Judy Osmond, and a large circle of nieces,
nephews, and friends. She was predeceased by brothers, Roy
(Betty) Battiste, Fred (Eileen) Battiste, Henry (Bertha) Battiste and
sisters, Edna (Fred) Banks and Lillian (Windell) Herritt,
brother-in-law, Don Osmond. The family will be receiving family
and friends at Fillatre’s Funeral Home,
134 Main Street, Port-aux-Basques on Monday, December 26 from 2-4
& 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will take place on
Tuesday, December 27 at 2:00 p.m., from St. James
Anglican Church with Rev. Marlene Harvey
officiating. Interment to follow at St. James Anglican
Cemetery, Barachois Hill. Flowers graciously accepted or donations in
Margaret’s memory may be made to the Heart and Stroke
