HARPELL, Margaret Elizabeth Age
88, of Truro and formerly of Port Bickerton, Guysborough Co.,has gone
Home to be with her Lord and Saviour, Sunday, July 2, 2017. Born to
the late Roland and Margaret (Fanning) Kaiser of Port Bickerton. She
lost her mother days after her birth and was reared by her
grandparents Jake and Jane Kaiser. Mom was a gentle soul who loved her
family with all her might. She loved flowers, birds, and all kinds of
wildlife. Over the years she shared her life with several dogs, cats
and budgie birds; she loved them all. She liked to travel with dad as
he worked in various places around the province. Summers in the
trailer were her “vacation”. She loved sleeping in and
staying up late, definitely a “night owl”. Mom spent many
hours sewing, crocheting, knitting, hooking rugs and
quilting. She loved quilting most of all and created
exquisite handmade works of art. Mom was a lifelong adherent of the
Gospel Hall in Port Bickerton. She is survived by her
children, Julie (Edwin) Dodge, James (Ellen) Harpell, Yvonne (David)
Webber; grandchildren, Edwina, Adam, Jimbob, Dominic, Robbie, Luke; 9
great-grandchildren and 1 great great-grandchild; half-brother,
Glenwood (Beverly) Kaiser, half-sister, Bernice (Fred) Layton several
nieces and nephews. Mom was predeceased by her husband, Robert and
daughter, Beverly. Visitation will be held Wednesday from 1pm until
time of funeral at 3pm in G.W. Giffin Funeral Home, St.
Mary’s Chapel, Sherbrooke with Mr. Noel Burden officiating.
Burial to follow in Harpellville Cemetery, Harpellville. Family
flowers only please. Memorial donations may be made to the Alzheimer
Society of Nova Scotia. The family would like to thank Dr. Henderson
and Lisa for the care and compassion shown to our mother. Funeral
arrangements are under the dignified and compassionate care of G.W.
