Margaret Elizabeth Burbidge – 2017

Margaret Elizabeth Burbidge
Margaret Elizabeth Burbidge died peacefully at Stanley, New
Brunswick, August 28 2017, in her 90th year. Margaret was
the only child of Lt. Col George D. Gillie of Cornwall Ontario and
Bessie Waterson of Vernon Ontario.
Margaret was predeceased by her husband Harrison Griffin
Burbidge and daughter Louise, and is survived by her son Geof H.
Burbidge (Anne Lang) and cherished granddaughter Emma of Chelsea,
Quebec.
Margaret moved to Fredericton in 1992 after a 23 year
affilation with the wonderful staff and customers at Smith’s
Florists in Lachine, Quebec, to become very active in the Christ
Church Cathedral Choir, the Cathedral Pewtersmiths and Festival of the
Arts, and with the Fredericton Choral Society and New Brunswick Choral
Federation.
There will be no funeral service at this time. A private
interment will take place in Fredericton. Donations gratefully
accepted in Margaret’s memory to the Christ Church Cathedral
music ministry at 168 Church St., Fredericton, NB, E3B 4C9.
Appreciation to the excellent staff at Nashwaak Villa and Windsor
Court, and particularly to Margaret’s very special New
Brunswick friends for their unflagging support and ministrations for
over half a decade.
