Mamie Irene Sampson
June 6, 1917 – November 20, 2017
Mamie Irene Williams, age 100, of Windsor, Hants County, passed away on Monday, November 20, 2017, at the Dykeland Lodge, Windsor.
Born on June 6, 1917, in Windsor, Nova Scotia, she was the daughter of the late Joseph Sampson and Mary Ford.
In her younger years, Mamie enjoyed singing and gardening.
Mamie is survived by her son, Michael Sampson (Lacey Zwicker), Windsor; nieces, Elaine (Dawson), Windsor; Jenny (Darrel), Windsor; Waneta (Paul), Windsor; Betty Sampson, Windsor; Melta Sampson, Windsor; and Polly (Herman), Windsor; nephews, John (Verna), Windsor; Wayne (Marg), Kentville; and Angus (Shelley), Windsor; and many great nieces and great nephews.
Mamie was predeceased by her parents; her husband, Peter Williams, and her later common-law spouse, Rufus Wile; sister, Josephine Upshaw; Rachel Sampson; Olive Kelsey; and Rita Sampson; brothers, Clifford Sampson and Lawrence Sampson; niece, Joanne Sampson; and nephew, Eric Sampson.
The family wishes to extend their gratitude to Dykeland Lodge staff for the care and compassion they have shown Mamie over the past 5 years.
Cremation has taken place under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, P.O. Box 2218, 194 King Street, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0.
A private burial will take place at a later date. No official funeral services will be held.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to the Canadian Cancer Society.
