The family is saddened to announce the death of Major Emery Lalonde after a long, courageous and inspiring battle with leukemia on Sunday December 3, 2017 at the age of 49. He leaves behind his devoted wife Gabrielle, his children Patricia and William, his sister Coralie (Richard), his brother James (Alison) and his father Pierre and, many nieces and nephews. His mother Maurene preceded him earlier this year.
Emery was a proud member of 12e RBC of the Royal Canadian Armoured Corps. He has served with the Canadian Armed Forces in Germany and Bosnia. When diagnosed, he was a member of the VCDS staff at NDHQ.
Friends are invited to visit the Hall of Colours of Beechwood Funeral, Cemetery, 280 Beechwood Ave. (east of Vanier Parkway) on Saturday December 16th after 12:30 p.m. A Celebration of Emery’s Life will be held in the Sacred Space at 2 p.m. followed by a reception in his honour.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Ottawa Hospital – General Campus, Cancer Program for their devotion and professionalism. In lieu of flowers the family would appreciate donations to the Canadian Leukemia & Lymphoma Society of Canada – www.llscanada.org/.
