Obituary Overview
Full of Love
We are blessed and grateful for the life, soul and spirit of Lyle Gordon Wade, March 14, 1933 – December 21, 2017. Beloved husband to Jean (nee Kelly) for 63 years. Father of Brenda Woods (Doug), Bonnie Wade (Jesus), Judy Hicks (Doug), Steven Wade (Maureen), Brian Wade (Kim), the late Kelly Wade. Lyle will be fondly remembered by his grandchildren Jennifer, Kary, Stephanie, Matthew, Courtney, Tyler, Daryn, Lisa, Brandon, Kaitlyn, the late Brittany, Sara, Zachary, Cora, Jazlyn, and sixteen great-grandchildren. Predeceased by his mother, Helen Purcell (Hume), and parents, Tace and Beatice Wade, siblings Marion Millar and Margurite Stewart.
Lyle’s kind heart, genuine care and compassion, enriched the lives of many. Family was his life priority and his greatest pride. He valued harmony, and appreciated all of life’s blessings. He dedicated himself to a life-long career within the automotive industry and was a valued, long standing member of the Metcalfe Lions Club, and St. Catherine’s Parish community.
A special ‘Thank you’ to Dr. D. Merrett for his years of care, the Winchester District Memorial Hospital, Ottawa Hospital, Montfort Hospital, and Garden Villa Retirement Residence for their care and impeccable service.
A private funeral liturgy and committal prayers will be held at Capital Funeral Home & Cemetery on Thursday December 28 at 11:00 a.m., followed by a public ‘Celebration of Life’ from 2:00-5:00 p.m. at the Metcalfe Lions Club, 8th Line Rd., Metcalfe, ON.
Donations to the Winchester District Memorial Hospital or the Canadian Cancer Society would be gratefully acknowledged by the family. Online condolences and sharing of memories available at www.capitalmemorial.ca
