Louise La Froye

LA FROYE
It is with hearts full of happy memories that we share the passing of our loving mother, grandmother and great-grandmother, Mrs. Louise Irene La Froye (nee Maclam), age 84 years, peacefully on Sunday, April 23, 2017.
Born on February 6, 1933 in Port Arthur, Louise grew up in the Bay Street area, and went to Cornwall School. At the young age of 11, when her mother passed away, Louise took over the household duties and cared for her siblings. When she married her husband Fred in 1951, their first years were spent in Heron Bay/Hanmer, Ontario. In 1960, they moved back to the Lakehead to raise their family, where they remained in the same house on Empress Avenue until her passing.
Louise will be deeply missed by her two daughters Irene (Pasquale) Mazzuca and Donna Kallio; two sons Terry (Sharon) La Froye and Ron (Elaine) La Froye; eight grandchildren: Maria, Louise, Patrick, Rachelle, Colleen, Rochelle, Terry and Kayla as well as seventeen great-grandchildren. She is also survived by her brother Leonard Maclam of Toronto and numerous nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives.
She was predeceased by her beloved husband Ferdinand “Fred” La Froye; her parents Irene (nee Smith) and Dalton Maclam; sisters Evelyn Lebreche and Delores Maclam; brothers Jim Maclam, Donald Maclam, Kenneth Maclam and Jack Maclam as well as her son-in-law Veikko Kallio.
Funeral Services for the late Mrs. Louise La Froye will be held on Wednesday, April 26, 2017 at 11:00am in the EVEREST FUNERAL CHAPEL, 299 Waverley Street at Algoma, with Rev. Randy Boyd officiating. Interment will follow in Riverside Cemetery. Visitation for family and friends will be held one hour prior to service time.
Should friends so desire, in lieu of flowers, donations made in memory of Louise to the Canadian Cancer Society would be greatly appreciated.
Her loving and kind spirit we will always treasure.
