Louis Kanalec – 1945 – 2017

Obituary for Louis Kanalec
It is with very heavy hearts that we announce the passing of Louis Kanalec, aka. Dad, Poppa Louis, Popps, at the South Bruce Grey Health Centre, Kincardine, surrounded by his wife Anna and his girls after a battle with cancer on Tuesday, July 25th, 2017, at the age of 72.
Louis was always such a bright spot in all of our lives, an awesome dad, grandfather and father-in law, brother, uncle and friend. He was always so supportive, kind and helpful. So handy and talented too, he could build a house, fix anything, teach you anything and play with your kids for hours. He was the ultimate and number one fan of everything his kids and grandkids had done on the rinks, fields, courts and stages.
Beloved husband of Anna Kanalec (née Plut).
Cherished father of Diane Gladding (Paul) of Waterloo and Victoria Skinner (Derek) of Kincardine.
Missed by his grandchildren, Grace and Zachary Gladding and Ethan and Danny Skinner.
Louis will be fondly remembered by many extended family members and friends.
Visitation will take place at the Davey-Linklater Funeral Home, Kincardine on Thursday from 7:00 to 9:00 p.m.
Funeral Mass will be celebrated from St. Anthony of Padua Roman Catholic Church, 749 Russell Street, Kincardine on Friday, July 28th, 2017 at 11:00 a.m., with Father Thomas Manninezhath officiating.
Memorial donations to the Huron Shores Hospice would be appreciated as expressions of sympathy.
Final resting place Kincardine Cemetery.
Louis, dad, Poppa you will be so missed, we are glad you are no longer in pain, we thank God for you, and we love you!!!
