Lorraine ‘Rainy’ Amanda Mooring
1947-2017
Lorraine “Rainy” Amanda Mooring, 69 of Little
Dover, Guysborough County passed away peacefully on Saturday, April
15th 2017, in the palliative care unit of the Aberdeen Hospital in New
Glascow. Born on June 3rd, 1947, in Canso, she was a daughter of the
late John Levi and Rose Alima (Horne) Haines of Little Dover.
She is survived, and will be forever missed by her
two daughters, Kelly (Shawn) Rhynold, of Little Dover; and Karla
(Chris) Chisholm, of Harbour Center, Antigonish; as well as her pride
and joy, her precious grandchildren, Chase, Brooklyn, Kai and Danny
Jack Chisholm.
Also surviving are her brothers and sisters, Harold (Genesta)
Haines, Little Dover; Georgina (Gordon) Hughes, Riverton NS; Mary Jean
(Frank) Rochon, Westville; Lois Richard (Christian), Alfred Haines,
Sally Haines (David), all of Riverton NS; Cindy (Tom) Keefe, Williams
Point; Danny Haines (Debbie), Little Dover; Kay Haines, Lower South
River; Kim (Allan) Baillee, Greenwood; and many nieces and nephews
whom she loved and cherished as her own.
Lorraine was predeceased by her husband, Carl in September 2015,
brother, Carm and sister-in-law Karen.
“Rainy” fought a long but courageous battle against
Cancer, never losing her faith. She was known for her kindness and
beautiful heart, always putting other’s ahead of herself, even to the
very end.
She loved her community, a good game
of bingo, and spending time with her family.
Visitation will be from 2-9 p.m. on Thursday April 20th in Dennis
Haverstock Funeral Home, Canso. Funeral mass will be at 11a.m. Friday
April 21st from St.Agnes Roman Catholic Church, Little Dover with
Father Dan MacDonald officiating. Burial will follow in the parish
cemetery.
