Lorraine Burbine
1929-2017
It is with sadness we announce the
passing of Lorraine Burbine, age 88, of
River Hebert. Lorraine passed away peacefully at Gables
Lodge, Amherst on Thursday, November 16, 2017 with family by her
side.
Born in River Hebert, she was a daughter
of the late Leon and Veronica (Casey) Richard.
Her family was her life. Her best days
were spent spoiling her grand children and great grandchildren.
Lorraine enjoyed fishing with her husband, John. She loved curling and
bowling. Family was everything to her, spending time camping, going to
baseball games and cheering on her kids. In her later years she
embraced her family at Gables Lodge as if they were her own.She will
be dearly missed by her daughters, Beverly Doucette of River Hebert
and Gen (Pat) MacDonald, of Stewiacke, and Janet (Roger) Hebert,
Moncton; 5 grandchildren, TJ Wood ( Crystal Porter), Kevin Wood (
Myrna Legere) Veronica Poplar ( Rick James) , Lisa Poplar ( Tim
Tucker) and John Hebert and 3 great grandchildren, Justina Morris (
Lacey Reid) , Devin Poplar and Josh Wood, brother, Joseph Richard
(Beryle) sister in law, Donna Richard, friend, Janet
Morris.
Besides her parents she was predeceased
by her husband John; son David; brothers, Reginald, Bill,
Ed,
Arrangements have been entrusted to
Furlong~Jones Funeral Home, River Hebert,
NS (902-251-2877), where visiting hours will be held on
Monday,November 20, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. Funeral
Mass will be celebrated on Tuesday, November 21, 2017 at 11 am, Father
Craig Christenson officiating. Burial will take place in St.
Thomas Aquinas Parish Cemetery.
Donations in memory of Lorraine may be
made to the River Hebert Fire Department, St. Thomas Aquinas Cemetery
Fund and the St. Denis Cemetery.
