It is with broken hearts that we announce the sudden passing of our beloved brother, Lorne Daniel MacQueen, 64, on Wednesday, Nov. 8, 2017 at St. Joseph’s Hospital, Toronto, Ontario surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Sydney Mines on Sept. 13, 1953, Lorne was the son of the late James and Regis (Campbell) MacQueen.
Lorne worked in Alberta for many years with Local 92. He helped many of his fellow Cape Bretoners to find work, and he was well-loved and respected by all who knew him.
Lorne is survived by his son, Ricky (Dawn); daughter, Danielle (Paul) and granddaughter, Moira; brother, Wayne (Elaine), North Sydney; sisters, Donna (John) Arseneault, Sydney Mines, Lois McDonald, North Sydney, and Jackie MacQueen, Toronto, Ont. Also left to mourn are his many nieces and nephews, aunts, uncles, cousins and many friends. Special mention to his loving cousin, Leah and great friend, Fabian Jessome.
Besides his parents, Lorne was predeceased by his brothers, Donnie, Ricky, Ronnie and Sonny; a sister in infancy, and his nephew, Wayne Arseneault.
Sincere thanks and gratitude to Dr. Michel McKeough, Louise McKeough, and Dr. David Brake for their care and compassion.
In honouring Lorne’s wishes, cremation has taken place. No visitation by request.
A graveside ceremony will be held at a later date.
