Lloyd William Card 22 mai 1930 – 2 mars 2017

Lloyd William Card,
May 22, 1930 – March 2, 2017
Falmouth, Hants County, NS
The family wishes to announce that Lloyd has passed from the loving care of his earthly family to the long term care of his Savior Jesus Christ.
Lloyd was born in Forest Hill, on Gaspereau Mountain, to Burleigh Card and Annie (Messom) Card.
In his younger days he was active as an Elder and youth leader in the Apostolic Church. Lloyd’s hobbies were Tug of War, Gardening and Politics. He was a passionate and excellent sales person for Rena Ware and World Book. He also poured his resources of wisdom and many times, financial assistance into the lives of those he touched.
Lloyd loved to sing the old Hymns of the faith and he was the inspiration behind the Precious Memories Choir, a ministry of Mount Denson Baptist Church. He encouraged his wife Heather to fulfill her dream of becoming Rev. Heather Card and attended many Acadia divinity classes with her. In 1996 with his wife Heather, Lloyd brought product from a company called Mannatech to Atlantic Canada. That was a great success story for about fifteen years. Lloyd and Heather travelled extensively in the United States particularly Hawaii, Mexico, Europe and on many cruises.
Lloyd is survived by his devoted wife, Heather. They were rarely separated. He was the proud father of Sonja Card-Martin (Glen) of Fredericton, NB; step-dad to Lana Walsh (Roger), Lawrencetown; Alicia Vuchot (Bernard), France; Ken Miller(John), London, UK; Dave Miller (Scott), Halifax; Kathleen Thomas (Ronald), Brooklyn. He was Papa to 9 grandchildren, James Tanner (Amber), Noel; Victoria, Evangeline, Childeric and Aramis, France; Brittany and Nathan, Michigan. Lloyd also delighted in having granddaughters, Allyson and Leah nearby in Brooklyn. Lloyd is also survived by his sister, Ruby Card-Adelman (New York) and brother-in-law, Burton Adelman, Florida.
Cremation and funeral services are under the care of Lindsay’s Windsor Funeral Home, 194 King St., P.O. Box 2218, Windsor, NS, B0N 2T0, where visitation will take place 6-8 pm Sunday, March 5.
A celebration of Lloyd’s life will take place at the Gaspereau Baptist Church, at 2 pm on Monday, March 6, 2017, with a reception following in the hall next door. Rev. Gary Manthorne is officiating. A family burial will take place at a future date.
Our gratitude goes out to the Northwood care givers, Michelle Tucker, Kathleen MacInnis and Tammy Lowe, who brightened Lloyd’s last year. Thanks also to the care given by Doctors, Chris King and Iona Wile and Staff on the second floor of the Hants Community Hospital.
Donations in Memory of Lloyd, may be made to the Mount Denson Baptist Church; the Forest Hill Baptist Church; Acadia Divinity College or a charity of choice.
