1963-2017
It is with great sadness that we announce the sudden and
unexpected death of Lloyd Ronald Sproul after suffering a heart attack
at the Dr. Everett Chalmers Hospital on Wednesday, November 8, 2017,
surrounded by his family. Lloyd Ronald (Ron) was born
February 9, 1963 in Fort Fairfield, Maine. He was the son of Lloyd and
Nirah (Larsen) Sproul.
Ron spent his earlier years in Maine and New Haven, Conn,
returning to New Brunswick with his parents in 1971. Ron
attended Fredericton High School, Minto High School and University of
New Brunswick. Because of his outgoing nature, Ron truly enjoyed his
service as a Paige at the Legislature.
Ron was instrumental in the start up of Billy’s Sea
Food Restaurant in Saint John and continued in the food service
industry for some time.
Ron was a music enthusiast but spending his summers at
Princess Park was the highlight of his life as well as capturing the
many beautiful sunrises and sunsets. He researched the
history of the family homestead in Princess Park which dated back to
the 1860’s with very prominent forefathers.
Ron is survived by his parents ; one sister, Kelly Ann
Dewsbury (John) , Great Aunt Nita Johnson, Aunt Carol Ashton (Brian),
Uncle Marty Larsen, Aunt Lois Park, Uncle James Sproul
(Doris) ; two nieces and very special cousins , many of whom were able
to be with him during his final hours, as well as
very special friends here and in Toronto.
Ron was predeceased by his grandparents, Wesley and Hilda
Sproul, John and Mary Larsen and his uncles Jake Larsen and George
Park.
A Memorial Service and reception will be held on Monday,
November 13th at 2 pm, Oromocto
Funeral Home, 108 Winnebago Street. Rev. Ellen Bearisto will
officiate. A private burial will take place at a later
date.
In lieu of flowers, donations to either Oromocto or
Fredericton SPCA or organization of your choice, would be most
welcome.
