Duclos: Lionel Marcel Duclos, age 78, of Swift Current passed away February 28, 2017. Prayer Service was held Monday, March 6, 2017 at 7:00 pm from the Chapel of Warren’s Funeral Home. The Mass Service was held Tuesday, March 7, 2017 at 2:00 pm from Christ the Redeemer Roman Catholic Church in Swift Current, with Rev. Msgr. Reymundo Asis officiating. Lighting the candle were Rick and Pam Duclos. The readers were Shenai Wagner and Blake Duclos. The Life Tribute was presented by Alex Duclos. The Intentions were given by Blake Duclos and the offering was brought forward by Rick and Pam Duclos. The Pallbearers were Craig Duclos, Alex Duclos, Blake Duclos, Jody Duclos, Gerald Wernicke and Travis Hattum. The Honorary Pallbearers were all of his coffee buddies. Lionel is survived by his wife Carrol; children Rachelle (Bob) Lamotte, Rick (Pam) Duclos, Gloria (Carl) Vielhauer and Gayle (Mark) Thornton; grandchildren Krystine (Donovan) Magel, Bryan (Kylee) Lamotte, Craig (Shenai) Duclos, Alex Duclos, Blake Duclos, Amanda Vielhauer, Matthew Vielhauer, Joshua Vielhauer, Jared Thornton, Heath Thornton and Daniel Thornton; brothers and sister Pauline Renpenning, Roger (Linda) Duclos, Raymond Duclos, Louis (Deb) Duclos, Viviane (Donald) Wernicke; sister and brother in law Grace and Bill Bowman, sister in law Irene Green. He was predeceased by his parent Marcel (Cecile) Duclos, sister Annette Duclos, brother Giles Duclos, brothers-in-law Ted Renpenning and John Green, and great grandbaby Gabriel Duclos, grandparents Osias and Adrienne Duclos, Thoedule and Josephine Perron, grandparents in law Albert and Bertha Bilboe, John and Emily Green, mother and father in law Reg and Mary Green. Lionel was born on August 28, 1938 in Ponteix, Sk. He attended school in Gravelbourg. Lionel married Carrol Green on April 19, 1965 at Our Lady of Confidence Catholic Church in Cadillac. Lionel was a farmer and school bus driver for many years. He was the president of church council and organized the Crichton Ball Club. He enjoyed fishing, woodworking, welding, playing cards, watching sports on TV and playing baseball. He will be missed by his family and friends and several nieces and nephews. In his memory, memorial donation may be made to the Canadian Diabetes Association. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
