Obituary of Lillian Palanek
PALANEK, Lillian M. (nee Lacina)
A resident of Chatham, Lillian passed away on August 22nd, 2017 at the Chatham-Kent Health Alliance in her 96th year.
Lillian, born in Czechoslovakia, was the daughter of the late Francis and Frances (née Brecka) Lacina. Beloved wife of the late Dr. Frank (F.G.) Palanek(1982).
Loving mother of Robert (Kathy) Palanek of Severn Bridge and Corinne (Tom) Curtin of Chatham. Lillian will be missed by three grandchildren, Christien Palanek of St. Catharines, Lauren Curtin of Chatham, Simon Curtin of Toronto and four great grandchildren. Sister of Mary (Bartosek) McDonnell of Chatham and Emily Otrhalek of Muskegon, Michigan. Predeceased by one brother, Stanley Lacina (2006) and two brothers-in-law, Frank Bartosek and Matt Otrhalek. Missed by many nieces, nephews & extended families.
Lillian administered F.G.’s medical practice for 35 years and was particularly proud of her involvement in various service clubs, especially her 60 year affiliation with the Hospital Guild and the numerous sorority groups she supported. Special thanks to Dr. Jacqueline Wolting for her kindness and compassionate care.
Family to receive friends on Friday, August 25th, 2017 from 10:30 a.m. until the Funeral Service at 11:30 a.m. at McKinlay Funeral Home, 459 St. Clair Street, Chatham with Rev. Susan Jolley officiating. Private family Interment at a later time. Memorial donations in memory of Lillian may be made to the Foundation of the Chatham Kent Health Alliance.
