Obituary for Lillian Margaret Thayer (Montgomery)
It is with heavy hearts that the family of Lillian Thayer announce that their beautiful Mother, Grandmother and Great Grandmother, passed away in the early morning hours of November 5, 2017 at the age of 96. Lillian slipped away peacefully surrounded by the love of her family. Predeceased by her husband, Lloyd, and her parents Eva and Merrill Montgomery. Lillian leaves to mourn her children Diana Cavers, of Almonte; Douglas (Anna McDonald), of Russell; Pamela Thayer Comegys (James) of Fresno, CA; Robert (Lorna) of Rapides des Joachims, QC. Lillian will be lovingly remembered by her grandchildren, Tracy McIntosh (Paul) Almonte; Dan Cavers, Lee Creek, BC; Eryn Baker (Doug Cowpland) Carleton Place; Kendra Thayer (Michael Webb) Ottawa; Sean and Matthew Comegys, Fresno CA and Rebecca Comegys, Seattle, WA. Very special great grandmother to Gregory, Emily and Olivia McIntosh; Henry and Louis Webb; Kayla, Erika, Andrew, Emma and Vincent Cowpland.
Friends are invited to visit at Epiphany Anglican Church, 1290 Ogilvie Road, Ottawa on Friday, November 10, 2017 from 1 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m. A reception will follow in the church. Cremation to follow. Burial will take place at St. James Anglican Church, Wright, QC at a later date.
Many thanks to all the staff of Garry J. Armstrong Long Term Care, who looked after Lillian and her family with such kindness while she was in their care. In lieu of flowers, donations in memory of Lillian to the Heart & Stroke Foundation, the Ottawa Heart Institute or a charity of your choice would be appreciated by the family.
