MacDonald, Audrey “Lillian”, 77 of
Riverton Heights Stellarton formerly of Churchville passed away
October 21, 2017 in the Palliative Care Unit at the Aberdeen
Hospital, New Glasgow.
Born in
New Glasgow she was a daughter of the late Kenneth and
Elizabeth(Munro)Mountain.
Lillian
had resided in Riverton Heights for the past year, having previously
lived in Churchville since 1963.
She was a
former employee of Canada Post from where she retired after 26 years
service. Over the years, Lillian was well known for her many years of
babysitting and childcare in the
community.
She is
survived by her sons: Robert(Vicky), Connecticut; Ken(Heather),
Glencoe; Barrie(Melissa), Bracebridge, Ontario; 8 grandchildren; 6
great-grandchildren; a brother Harry(Rose
Mary)Mountain.
She was
predeceased by her husband Earl MacDonald, a daughter Lillian Jean
“Jeannie”
Cremation
has taken place.
The
family will receive visitors from 7-9pm Wednesday and 12:30 until the
time of service at 2pm on Thursday October 26, 2017 at the Christian
Fellowship Church, 489 Abercrombie Road, New Glasgow with Pastor Bruce
Morrison presiding. Burial of ashes will take place in the
SunnyBrae Cemetery followed by a reception at the SunnyBrae
Hall.
Donations
in memory of Lillian may be made to the Aberdeen Hospital Palliative
Care Society, the Kidney Foundation of Nova Scotia or to a charity of
one’s choice.
At this time the family wish to extend
special thanks to Dr. M. McCara and staff, the VON Nursing,
Continuing Care, and to the Doctors and Staff at the Aberdeen Hospital
Emergency Department as well as the Palliative Care
Unit.
