Lillian “Lil” Mildred Stirling
1925-2017
The death of Lillian “Lil” Stirling, wife of the
late Frederick Ralph Stirling, occurred Wednesday, July 5, 2017 at the
Saint John Regional Hospital. Born July 15, 1925 in Saint John, she
was a daughter of the late Archibald and Elizabeth (Barrett)
Woodland.
Lil loved to socialize and play BINGO with her friends at
Branch 64 Legion. She was an Avon representative for many years for
Stephenson Tower and Charlton Place. She will be missed by her family,
and her friends at Kings Way Care Centre.
Lil is survived by her sons: George Stirling (Cathy), Gordon
Stirling, Tim Stirling (Darlene), and David Stirling (Pam);
grandchildren: Elizabeth Stirling, Curtis Stirling, Christopher
Stirling, Tiffany Martin (Jason), Stephanie Stirling, Amanda Stirling,
Erin Stirling (Cody), Meagan Stirling, Alexandra Maitre (Dustin), Kyle
Maitre, Brian Stirling, and Emma Stirling; 8 great-grandchildren;
brother, Harold Woodland (Esther); sisters-in-law, Joan Woodland and
Marie Woodland; and several nieces and nephews. Besides her parents
and husband, she was predeceased by her brothers: Edward Woodland,
Cecile Woodland, and Raymond Woodland; and daughter-in-law, Kim
Stirling.
Resting at Brenan’s Funeral Home, 111
Paradise Row, Saint John
(634-7424), with
visiting on Friday, July 7, 2017 from 2 to 4 and 6 to 8 pm. A funeral
service will be held on Saturday, July 8, 2017 at 9:30 am from
Brenan’s Funeral Home Chapel. Interment will follow in Ocean
View Memorial Gardens. Remembrances to Kings Way Care Centre or a
charity of the donor’s choice would be appreciated by the
family.
