HEALEY, Lillian DALE (nee, McAlpine)
With her profound faith, strength, loving family and dearest friends by her side, Dale passed away peacefully, in her 75th year, after a 4 1/2 year battle with cancer on December 17th, 2017 at Peterborough Regional Health Centre. Cherished wife of Brian for 54 years. Loving mother of David (Jane), Darryl (Cheryl) and Michelle (Moorie). Cherished Nanny of Cameron (Maya), Trevor (Michaela), Mitchell (Kennedy), Jared, Jordan, Hannah and Madison. Predeceased by her parents, William McAlpine and Hazel Varley. Dear sister-in-law of Peter Healey (Ethel), Joan Heath (the late Gerald), the late Joyce Ballard and Michael Healey and survived by many nieces and nephews. Sincerest thanks to her care team; PRHC Cancer Care, Dr. John Lo, Dr. Solomon (Sunnybrook), Dr. John Beamish, the PRHC Palliative Care Unit, support worker Melanie and visiting nurse Laura, Hospice Peterborough women’s support group, Father Peter and ‘Gailer’, especially for their loving support in her final hours.
Along with her greatest joy of being a mother and grandmother, Dale was actively involved in various groups throughout the years; Kinettes, St. Vincent de Paul, Catholic Women’s League and the Women’s Business Network of Peterborough. At their winter home in Florida, she was the secretary and president of the Canadian Club in Colony Cove. She will be missed by so many dear friends and neighbours in Peterborough, Toronto and Florida. Friends will be received at the HIGHLAND PARK FUNERAL CENTRE, 2510 Bensfort Rd., Peterborough on Wednesday December 20th, from 6:00-9:00pm. Parish prayers will be held at 5:45 PM. Funeral mass will be held at ST. ALPHONSUS LIGOURI ROMAN CATHOLIC CHURCH, 1066 Western Ave Peterborough on Thursday December 21st at 11:00 AM. Her dearest friend, Father Peter Seabrook and Father Jerry Tavares will be officiating. In memory of Dale, donations to Hospice Peterborough would be appreciated by the family.
