Obituary for Leta Berko – D’Angelo
Leta Berko (D’Angelo) of St Thomas, formerly of Thunder Bay, Ontario passed away unexpectedly on November 9, 2017. Leta was born in Italy on March 15, 1955. She came to Canada with her mother Argentina to be reunited with her father Rocco in 1957. In 1982, she married the love of her life David Berko and together they had three beautiful children. Shortly after they moved to St. Thomas, Ontario.
Leta was a gentle and loving mother, wife and friend to all, putting others needs before her own.
Leta is survived by her three children Laura, Matthew and Erika Berko, mother Argentina D’Angelo, sister Helen Bechwermert and nephews and nieces Ryan, Jessica, and Kyle Bechwermert of Calgary, Alberta, mother-in-law and sister-in-law in St Thomas, numerous aunts, uncles, and cousins in Thunder Bay and Italy.
Leta was predeceased by her husband David (2008) and father Rocco (2013), grandmothers and grandfathers, as well as uncles, aunts and cousins in Thunder Bay and Italy.
Funeral mass for the late Leta Berko (D’Angelo) will be held at St Anthony’s Church, Hilldale Road on Friday November 24,2017 at 11am. Visitation will be held between 10-11 am prior to funeral. Funeral arrangements entrusted to Sargent & Son Ltd Funeral Home. A private interment will be held.
In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Heart and Stroke Foundation or a charity of your choice.
