Leslie Les East – 2017

EAST; Leslie “Les” Ray peacefully passed away on August 19th, 2017 at Cypress Regional Hospital at the age of 60. Les is survived by his two loving sons Joseph “Joe” Leslie of Swift Current and Kristopher “Kris” Ray (Shelby) of Moose Jaw; his brothers Robert “Butch” (Carol) of Climax, Craig (Debbie) of Waldeck and sister-in-law Marcella of Orkney; including many nieces and nephews. He was predeceased by his father and mother Joseph “Bob” and Olive “Joan” East; his older sister Marian (Bill) Hogberg, older brother Claude “Skeeter” and younger brother Paul “Dooley”. Les was born April 2, 1957 at the hospital in Climax, SK. He attended school in Orkney, SK till Grade 6 at which point he completed the remainder in Val Marie, SK. Les was employed by Sask Wheat Pool/ Viterra from 1980 till 2016 at which point he retired. Les enjoyed hunting, fishing, socializing with friends and family, he also enjoyed spending time outside with his faithful companion Taffy and spending the holidays with his two loving sons. The Memorial Service was held at 11:00 am on Friday, August 25th, 2017 at Mt. Calvary Lutheran Church with Pastor Brad Julien officiating, the eulogy was read by his loving niece Jolene Gershon, and the urn bearer was his youngest son Kristopher “Kris”. The interment service took place at Orkney Cemetery. Warren’s Funeral Home were entrusted with the arrangements.
