Obituary of Leona MacDonald-Lock
LEONA MACDONALD-LOCK
Leona, late of Regina, SK, passed away peacefully at the Pasqua Hospital with her daughter by her side on Wednesday, October 25, 2017. Predeceased by her parents, Elizabeth and Alec MacDonald; sister Marian MacDonald; sister-in-law Candyce MacDonald, Leona is survived by daughter Melissa Lock; brothers, Barrie MacDonald (Rose) and Brian MacDonald (Sherry); sister Sharon Graham (Jamie); as well as numerous nieces and nephews. Leona was born April 16, 1942 in Broadview, SK. She earned her teaching certificate at the Regina Teacher’s College and began her teaching career in 1961. Leona went on to a 34 year career in various communities such as, Wawota, Stoughton, Arcola, Weyburn, Lumsden, and Vibank. She was also an Assistant Superintendant in the Herbert School Division. Leona’s sense of humour, pride in her students, and commitment to her profession made her a loved and valued educator to both colleagues and families in her community. Thank you to Parkside Extendicare and the Pasqua Hospital for the wonderful care they took of Leona. A Come and Go Celebration of Life will be held at Speers Funeral Chapel, 2136 College Avenue, Regina, SK on Tuesday, October 31, 2017 from 2:00 to 4:00 p.m. In lieu of flowers, friends wishing may make a donation in memory of Leona, to the Hospitals of Regina Foundation, 225-1874 Scarth Street, Regina, SK S4P 4B3.
