Leon Maloney – 2017

Passed away peacefully with his loving family by his side at Victoria Hospital in London on Thursday, April 13, 2017. Born on April 18, 1938, in McKillop Township, Wilfred Leon Maloney of RR#1 Dublin, was in his 79th year.
Beloved husband of Mary (née Klaver) Maloney for 45 years. Loving father Chris Maloney and wife Angela of Seaforth, Sherri and husband Brad Buchanan of Atwood, Kim and husband Tim Buchanan of Atwood, the late Cindy Maloney (August 14, 1998) and the late Derek Maloney (February 28, 2004). Cherished Grandpa of Blake, Lane, Sage, Bo, Jane and Ben Buchanan, and Matthew and Emily Maloney. Also survived by his mother-in-law Elizabeth Klaver, siblings Lorraine Feeney, Ken (Madelon) Maloney, Jean Kelly, Eileen Pryce, and siblings-in-law Laurene Maloney, Casey (Sophie) Klaver, Simon Klaver, Liz (Robert) Reid, Linda Klaver, Matt (Dawn) Klaver, Richard (Sandra) Klaver and Nick (Tracy) Klaver. Leon will also be missed by his many nieces, nephews and friends.
Predeceased by his daughter Cindy, son Derek, parents Joseph and Nora (née Murray) Maloney, father-in-law Herman Klaver, siblings Martin, Clarence and Leonard Maloney, and brothers-in-law Len Feeney, Fritz Klaver and Herman Jr. Klaver.
Visitation will be held at the McGlynn Family Funeral Home, 87 Goderich St. W., Seaforth, 519-527-1390, on Monday, April 17th from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. (with Knights of Columbus Prayers at 6:45 p.m.). Mass of Christian Burial led by Fr. Festus Komolafe will be held at St. Patrick’s Catholic Church on Tuesday, April 18, 2017, at 11 a.m. Private interment will take place in St. Columban Catholic Cemetery followed by a reception in the St. Patrick’s Catholic Church Hall.
