Obituary of Leokadia Zielinski
ZIELINSKI, Leokadia (Lucy)
Passed away peacefully on Monday, December 18, 2017 in her 98th year. Loving aunt of Slawek and his wife Rysia and their children Diana, Andrew and Ashley. Lucy will be fondly remembered by her close friends Marta, Joseph, and Jadwiga Durski. She is also survived by family and friends in Poland and the United States. Predeceased by her sister Helena Jankowski, brother Chester Zielinski, sister-in-law Weronicka Zielinski and cousin Father Cashmere Zielinski. Lucy was a member of Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church and (SPK) Polish Combatants of Canada Association. She was employed by the St. Catharines General Hospital as Dietary Aide for 16 years. In her 35 years of retirement, Lucy enjoyed gardening and spending time with family. She will be remembered for her selflessness and love of family. Family and friends will be received at the GEORGE DARTE FUNERAL HOME, 585 Carlton St., St. Catharines on Wednesday, December 20 from 2-4 p.m. The Rosary will be recited in the funeral home on Wednesday at 3 p.m. Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church, 5 Oblate St., St. Catharines on Thursday, December 21 at 10 a.m. Entombment to follow at Victoria Lawn Cemetery. Memorial donations to Our Lady of Perpetual Help Church would be appreciated by the family.
