Leo Bolivar – 1921-2017

BOLIVAR, Leo Granville, Branch
LaHave – May 9, 1921 – May 29, 2017. It is with
great sadness that we the family announce his passing at home with his
family by his side. Leo “Bampie” was a Veteran of
WWII serving overseas with the Princess Louise Fusiliers from 1939
-1945. Most of his life he worked at Bowater Mersey Paper Co. and
Acadia Gas Engines Ltd. He enjoyed his small farm especially his oxen
and anything to do with them. He loved a good game of cards and was
always looking forward to spending time with his friends. Bampie had a
never ending love and devotion for his family, especially his
grandchildren and great grandchildren. He will be missed by his feline
pet Nikki. Leo was the youngest and last surviving member of his
family. He is survived by daughter Emilie, grandsons Granville
(Jennifer), Graham (Dania), great grandchildren Madison, Allison,
Isabelle and Oliver, several nieces and nephews and a large circle of
friends. He was predeceased by his wife Marie (Mailman), father and
mother Walter and Jane, sisters, Freda and Hazel, brothers Aubrey,
Byron, Donald, Clyde and Randolph, son-in-law Earle Hayward.
Visitation 7-9pm Wednesday, with a Public Legion Tribute Service at
6:30 pm in R. A. Corkum Funeral Home, Wileville , and also where
Funeral Service will be held at 11:00am Thursday. Rev. Willis Ott
Officiating. Interment in Hillside Cemetery, Branch LaHave. No flowers
by request, memorial donations may be made to Hillside Cemetery Branch
LaHave, Saint James Lutheran Church, Branch LaHave, or charity of your
