Lena “Lee Margaret Campbell – 2 May 1925 – 12 July 2017

Our beloved sister and aunt passed away at the age of 92 on 12 July 2017 at the Kiwanis Pavilion in Victoria where she had received wonderful care for the past six years and nine months.
Lee was born on 2 May 1925 in Saskatoon, SK as the fifth of nine children. She moved to Victoria in 1947 where she lived most of her adult life. Lee was an office worker for the Canadian Government for most of her career – particularly with Search and Rescue in Vancouver (Jericho Beach) and Victoria (Esquimalt). Her real joy was her connections with siblings, nieces and nephews and extended family. She enjoyed traveling to visit family members as well as exploring various destinations overseas. She was very fond of movies and particularly classical music. For many years, she bought double seasons passes for the Victoria Symphony and shared the extra tickets with family members and friends.
Lee was predeceased by her parents – Patrick “Paddy” and Marie (nee Dineen) Campbell – her brothers, Francis, Mal and Ray and sisters, Agnes Duncan and Mary Healy.
She is survived by Bonnie (Vic) Ring (St. Albert, AB); Dan (Jiggs) Campbell (Richard’s Landing, ON); Dorothy “Dot” Upton (Saskatoon, SK) as well as numerous nieces, nephews, and extended family.
A time of “Remembering Aunt Lee” will be held at the home of her nephew (Bob Duncan) at 724 Wain Rd in Sidney, BC on 13 August 2017. Burial in the family plot at Woodlawn Cemetery in Saskatoon, SK will take place on 9 Sept 2017.
Condolences may be offered to the family below.
