Porter, Lawrence Joseph
Passed peacefully away at Pleasant View Towers on Wednesday, December 21, 2016 of Long Pond, age 78 yrs. Predeceased by his parents: Joseph and Margaret Porter, sisters: Margaret Young and Ellen Hicks. Leaving to mourn with loving memories his wife of 51 years Sarah, daughters: Lori Moore (James), Lee Ann Fewer (Jimmy), pop’s pride and joy were his grandchildren: Joseph, Abbey, Luke and Jack, sister: Marie McCann (Toronto), sisters-in-law: Becky Fagan (Ken), Ethel Street, Louise Scott (Barry), Audrey Dawe (Gary), Judy Churchill (Jerry), Maureen Clarke, brothers-in-law: Ruben Clarke, Shirley Clarke (Lilly), Walter Clarke (Sandra). Also nieces, nephews and other relatives and friends. A special thank you to the staff of 1 South West and 3 North West for their compassion and loving care shown to Pop. Visitation in the James J. Hickey Memorial Funeral Home, Kelligrews on Thursday, 7 pm – 9 pm, Friday 10 am – 12 noon, 2 pm – 4 pm & 7 pm – 9 pm. Funeral service to take place in the James J. Hickey Memorial Chapel, Kelligrews on Saturday, December 24, 2016 at 11 am. Cremation to follow. No flowers by request, donations may be made to Alzheimer Society of Newfoundland & Labrador.
