BLACK, Lawrence (Larry) Lauder
December 28, 1922 – December 10, 2017
Lawrence (Larry) Lauder Black was born on the family farm near Drumheller, Alberta on December 28, 1922 and passed away on Sunday, December 10, 2017 when he went home to be with his Lord. He was the first of three children of Albert and Grace Black. Larry attended the Gartleyschool near Morrin, AB and later worked in the coal mines in East Coulee. In 1943, he married Minnie Andrews and they had one daughter. After only twenty years of marriage Min passed away, and in 1964 Larry married Laurene (Bertsch) Blehm, a widow with four sons. He was well known in the area as a trucker with E.O Parry, and was a longtime member of the Fellowship Baptist Church.
Larry is lovingly remembered by his daughter and son-in-law, Faith and Harry Wilnechenko of Calgary and four sons and daughters-in-law: Lyle and Gwen of Westlock, Dwain andDiane of Kelowna, Rod and Donna of Edmonton, and Neal and June of Langley. He has sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren and one great-great-grandson. He is also survived by one sister, GracePotts-Coles of Victoria.
A Memorial Service will be held in January.
