WALDOCK, The Reverend LaVerne Louise
The Reverend LaVerne Louise Waldock (nee Lofgren) passed away peacefully on Wednesday, February 8, 2017 in Calgary, AB. She was born September 30, 1932 in San Jose, California and lived a full life in the USA, Canada, India, France, Zaire, Kenya and Sri Lanka. Her career included teaching, ministering, cataloguing an academic library and establishing programs to assist women in developing countries.
She is dearly loved and will be sorely missed by her husband, Ray Waldock of 65 years; daughters, Elizabeth (Martin) Arkell, Deborah Waldock; son, David (Kathy) Waldock; grandchildren, Kimberley (Matt) Simmonds, Carolyn (Joel Martin) Arkell, Catherine Arkell, Katherine Hasenpflug, Joel (Jen) Waldock, John Waldock, Emma Waldock and Michael Waldock; great grandchildren, Benjamin and Elizabeth Simmonds, Nico Vlittas and William and Samuel Martin.
We are grateful for the years we had with her to experience her love, kindness and wisdom. We would like to thank the staff at the Providence Care Centre for their compassionate care for LaVerne and her family.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in LaVerne’s memory to the Father Lacombe Care Centre Foundation, 270 Providence Blvd SE, Calgary, AB, T2X 0V6 or Alzheimer Society of Calgary, 2012 – 66 Avenue SE, Calgary, AB, T2C 1X7.
A Memorial Service will be held at St. Andrew’s Presbyterian Church, 703 Heritage Drive SW, Calgary, AB on Monday, February 13, 2017 at 2:00 pm.
