1938-2017
MACINTOSH, Lawrence “Larry” of Blackett’s
Lake passed away peacefully with family by his side on Sunday, October

Larry was born in 1938, the son of the late Joseph and

lifelong partner not only in love and family but also in his
life’s work. Together, Larry and his wife opened
‘Sunshine Disposal’ in ’75, a company
that continues to serve Cape Breton Island today. He was
known for offering everyone a large smile, even during the hard times,
which gave him his nick name ‘smiley.’
Larry approached life with strength, tenacity and
passion.
Larry was dearly loved by his wife, Jeanette; daughters, Joy
(Andrew Final), Maria (Eric Sheppard), both of Dartmouth; Crystal
(Joel MacRae), who was a daughter to Larry even though she was his

Margret Clare, Halifax; brothers, Fulton (Lisa), New Brunswick, Tommy
(Lynn), Economy and Paul (Christine), Ontario; grandchildren, Dawsyn
Moore and Devon LeBlanc; great-grandchildren, Grady and Finley
MacRae. Larry came from a large family of 13 and was
deceased by several sisters and brothers.
Larry will always be remembered as a loving husband, father
and grandfather who supported his family.

held at Our Lady of Fatima Church on Wednesday, November
1st at 11:00 am with Rev. Duaine Devereaux
officiating. There will be a reception after the mass
