THOMPSON, Lansford
On Monday, October 23, 2017, Lansford George Thompson, passed away at Scarborough General Hospital after a lengthy illness at the age of 77. He was born January 3, 1940 in May Pen Clarendon, Jamaica and later moved to England in 1959 before migrating to Canada in 1964. George made Pickering, Ontario his home for over the past 50 years where he lived a full, happy and prosperous life. He will lovingly be remembered by his wife Iris Hyacinth Thompson. He is survived by his 5 children Marcia, Sharon (Leonard), Paul (Anita), Elliott and Natasha. 6 Grandchildren, Geneve (Chris), Chantelle (Sharief), Samarah, Rebecca, Nathaniel, and Ashanti. 2 Great-grandchildren Sharief Jr. and Adrein. He is also survived by other relatives in England, Jamaica and the United States. He will be greatly missed by family and friends. Family and friends will be received at the McEachnie Funeral Home, 28 Old Kingston Road, Ajax 905-428-8488 on Thursday November 2nd 2017 from 6pm to 9pm and Friday Nov 3rd from 9am to 11am. Funeral Service to follow at 11am in the chapel. Burial to take place at Pine Ridge Memorial Gardens, 541 Taunton Rd, W, Ajax (entrance to cemetery is off Church St).
After the interment there will be a celebration of life held at the McLean Community Centre in the Community Hall, 95 Magill Drive, Ajax from 2pm to 7pm. On-line condolences may be placed at www.mceachniefuneral.ca
