Our beautiful mother, grandma, nana, sister and aunt, passed away peacefully on October 16, 2017, at the age of 96 years. Her family was with her at her bedside. She is survived by her daughter, Carole Josephson; son, Ron Lambert; grandchildren, Mike Josephson, Kelly (Mike) Saretsky, and Dean (Cindy) Lambert; great grandchildren, Amy, Danny, Jack and Colleen; step-brother, Ron (Carol) Bell; sister-in-law, Kay (Bob) Metcalfe, and many other cherished relatives in Canada and Orkney, Scotland. She was predeceased by her husband, George Lambert; granddaughter, Leah Lambert; father and mother, Eric Clark and Isobela Bews Clark; sister, Bunty Aubert; brothers, John, Douglas and Norman Clark, and Jim Bews; and son-in-law, Joe Josephson.
Grandma was born in Kirkwall, Orkney, Scotland. After the death of her young mother, grandma immigrated to Canada in 1927 with her father, sister and three brothers. They travelled across the Atlantic on the steam ship Athenia and across Canada by train to their new home in Saskatoon, where grandma attended King George School.
Grandma and our grandpa George made their home in Saskatoon and North Battleford. Our family spent many happy summers with grandma and grandpa at their cabin at Bells Beach, Christopher Lake, SK, enjoying card games, stories, swimming, boating, golf, fishing, good friends and great meals. In 2015, grandma moved from Saskatoon to Arbutus Ridge, BC, to be close to her children, Ron and Carole.
Grandma was the centre of our family. Her presence filled every room with love and laughter. She loved cooking, crafts, music, sports, and a good party – especially one with a Big Band or Scottish theme. She was immensely proud of her family, and she was a caring friend to many people. She taught us many things, including many highly memorable sayings and phrases, and how to age with grace and style. Hers was a life well-lived over 96 years and she remained proudly independent until the end. We are so very grateful for her. We will miss her every day, but her spirit, her love and her laughter will remain in our hearts forever.
Our most sincere sympathies to the family and friends of Lambert Margaret – March 3- 1921 –
