Obituary of Konrad Kot
KOT, KONRAD PAUL: With saddened hearts we announce the sudden passing of Konrad on Friday, December 15, 2017. Beloved husband of Holly (Bartlett) for 47 years. Kind and loving father of Trevor (Karen), and Zachery (Kristin). Proud grampy of Alaina and Paxton Kot, and GG to Jaylee and Liam Prashaw (Erik and Janet), and William Ransom (Kristen and Jimmy). Brother of Anita Marshall (Alan) and Mark Kot (Christine), and uncle to Simon, Leah, Tarmaine, Curtis and Hannah. Brother-in-law of Steve, Stan and Lorrie Bonang. Konrad was a proud member of the Carpenter’s Local 18 since 1970, holding various positions in the Executive before retiring as a B.A. in 2009. Konrad was involved with many aspects of sports in the Smithville community from coaching, participating, mentoring, and always cheering for his “Habs”. His greatest joy was time spent at Long Point with friends and family for over 50 years, and upon retirement spending winters with friends in Florida. Visitation at Merritt Funeral Home, 287 Station Street, Smithville on Tuesday, December 19 from 2-4 and 7-9 p.m. The funeral service will be held at Smithville United Church, 116 West Street (Regional Rd 20), Smithville on Wednesday, December 20 at 10 a.m. Thanks to Merritt Funeral Home for their guidance. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations to the Heart & Stroke Foundation would be appreciated and can be made through the funeral home.
