Obituary of Kenneth Secord
Secord, Kenneth “The Professor” Morley – After a year battling with brain cancer, passed away peacefully at Hotel Dieu Shaver on October 24, 2017 at the age of 61. Loving husband to Sue (nee Charkowy) for 38 years. Cherished Dad to Shane (Christina), and the late Philip (Amberley). Devoted Granpa to Ellie, Hunter and new baby (due in April). Beloved son to Marjorie (nee Grant) and the late Edward Secord. Will be fondly remembered by his brother William “Billy” (Ingrid), sister Linda (Walter) Klassen and many loving family members and close friends. Predeceased by his brother Edward “Teddy.” Over the years Ken was employed with Niagara College (Welding Professor), Home Hardware, General Motors, Beaver Lumber and Port Weller Dry Docks. He enjoyed to boat, sail, fish and was a gifted handyman. Above all else, he treasured every second he spent with his family. Whether enjoying the sunset at Port with his wife Sue, teaching his sons how to build or fix almost anything, reminiscing with his mother, or enjoying the fun loving and innocent nature of his grandchildren. Ken was in his element and his presence will be truly missed.
Family and friends will be received at the George Darte Funeral Home, 585 Carlton Street on Saturday November 4, 2017 between 11:30 am to 3:30 pm. Cremation has taken place. A funeral service will be held in the funeral home at 3:30 pm with a time of fellowship and reception to follow. A private burial will take place at a later date.
