Obituary Overview
Lovingly Remembered
MURPHY, Kenneth
March 15, 1945- December 6, 2017.
Ken’s loving wife and best friend of 49 years Judy, his kids Kelly, Kevin (Jackie), Janelle and sisters Shauna (Gary) and Judy are deeply saddened to announce his passing. Ken and his wife Judy were inseparable and spent their happily married life surrounded by family and a huge group of very close friends. Ken was the life of the party and lit up the room with his smile, his jokes and his strong wit. Ken was the epitome of a family man. He never missed a dinner, an event or anything to support his loved ones. He loved his kids more than life itself and would drop everything just to see them smile. He absolutely adored his two granddaughters, Mischa and Emma, and they loved sharing time with their “Papa”. Ken was born in Montreal, raised in Edmonton then moved with Judy to pursue his career as a Landman in Calgary. He worked in the oil and gas industry and knew everyone inside and outside of his network. Walks through the plus 15’s with Ken took hours, as he would stop to talk to everyone, who he always knew by name. Introducing himself, and whomever he was with, was a huge part of his routine. Every restaurant visit started with an introduction, as Ken always wanted to bond with each and every person around him. He loved entertaining and living life to the fullest. Right now he is in heaven, probably doing the Irish jig with his loving parents Bill and Peg Murphy and his close friends who have previously passed. His loss will be incredibly difficult for so many, but he would have wanted everyone to remember the good. Ken’s parting words to all of you reading this would have been “Thanks for the entertainment”. Funeral service will be held at Eden Brook Funeral Home on Wednesday December 13 at 10:00 a.m.
