Brander, Katherine “ Maxine”- It is with sadness in our heart that we announce of the passing of Katherine Brander. She passed peacefully on November 22, 2017 at the age of 96 yrs. old. She is survived by her husband of 70 years Preston Brander, sons Ron (Janet) Brander , Dennis (Laura) Brander, her grandchildren April( Jeff) Vanyo, Sean ( Holly) Brander, Adam (Tara) Brander and all of her great grandchildren Oliver, Aubrey, Samantha, Casey, Max, Eli and Adeline, who she love and doted on. Nana was one amazing woman, she was there always to greet you with a smile and a hug. She was never fully happy until she had fed you and you had a least 2 helpings. You see Nana was most happiest in her kitchen preparing all sorts of amazing meals and goodies for her family. Katherine was proud to serve in WW2 as a WAC stationed in Britain and after the war she went where the work was, which lead her to St. Catharines. It was here that she was set up on a blind double date with Preston and the two fell in love, so much that they had a Christmas Eve wedding. Katherine had worked several jobs over the years but the one job she held with such passion was being a mother and grandmother. Nothing made her smile more than visits with the family. She was everyone’s Nana and she loved it. There won’t be one day that doesn’t pass that we won’t think of you and smile.
