Obituary Overview
June Wiebe
On December 15, 2017, June Wiebe passed away peacefully at Deer Lodge Centre. June was predeceased by her husband Bill, siblings Shirley, Violet, Herbert, Harold, and Otto. She is survived by her children Heather (Marcel), Gregory (Tricia), Brenda (Kevin), Cheryl (Craig) and Ronald (Clare), her grandchildren Keenan, Kayla, Megan, Eric, Charlene, Adam, Austin, Taylor, Lauren, and Hanna, as well as great-grandchildren Haley, Erin and Sienna.
June was born in Winnipeg and grew up in Bird’s Hill, Manitoba. June will be fondly remembered for her devotion to her family and most of all to her late husband, Bill.
Throughout her life, June liked to keep busy. As well as mother and homemaker, she worked many part-time jobs, bowled, played bingo, she loved her bingo, and would always have a knitting project, word puzzle, jigsaw or even a Wii game on the go. Also, she and Bill would compete in weekly cribbage tournaments. Even at the lake, she’d be tending the garden or off fishing at her favorite spot under the bridge. June was an excellent cook and baker. Her Sunday dinners and holiday meals were always fantastic and well attended. She will also be remembered for her quirky sense of humor, which she kept even up to the last weeks and days of life.
In the last years of her life and in particular after the passing of Bill, her health began to decline. The family would like to thank the caregivers at Cancer Care, Grace Hospital Emergency Department, Grace Hospital 5th floor and finally those at Deer Lodge Centre, 5th floor.
As prearranged by June, she has been cremated and a private family internment has taken place.
