Obituary Overview
Gone but not forgotten
It is with profound sadness that the family of June Shaw announces her passing on November 22, 2017 at Clifton Manor in Calgary at the age of 72 years.
She will be lovingly remembered by her children: Charene Davis (Allen), Regan Davis (Kristine), Lana Robinson (Bill) and Clint Shaw; her stepchildren: Michelle Guy (Colin) and Kim Guy; seventeen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. June will also be sadly missed by her sister Donna Christensen and numerous nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her husband Jim Guy; her sister Francis Wilson; her mother Pearl McFadden and her father Frank McFadden.
June was born in Drumheller, AB on June 11, 1945 to Frank and Pearl McFadden. She was the youngest of three daughters. June grew up on the family farm in the Delia area. As an adult, she lived in Calgary and several small towns throughout Alberta.
June was artistic, wrote poetry, was an avid crafter and created many things including pastel drawings, taxidermy, and toys for her grandchildren. She also loved camping, fishing, rodeos, and travelling. In her younger years, June was a curler and played slo-pitch. Her passions in life were time spent with family and friends, country music, and weekends at the Ponderosa.
June enjoyed over 25 years with the love of her life, Jim Guy. They were inseparable and together they enjoyed many of life’s simple pleasures.
Memorial donations may be made in June’s name to the Alzheimer Society of Canada, 10531 Kingsway Avenue, Edmonton, AB T5H 4K1 (www.alzheimer.ca).
A Celebration of June’s Life will be held in the Chapel of Mountain View Funeral Home (1605 – 100 Street SE, Calgary) on Tuesday, November 28, 2017 at 2:00 p.m.
