Obituary of Joyce Nielsen
JUNE 24, 1936 – AUGUST 29, 2017
It is with a mixture of sadness and relief that we announce the passing of Joyce shortly after suffering a stroke. She was predeceased by her husband Dick Wunder; parents Elmer and Mildred Nielsen; brother Murray Nielsen; son-in- law Mark Thomas; and her first husband Bill Currall. Until her retirement in June of 1996 she worked at the Provincial Lab as a medical laboratory technologist. Joyce loved to travel and did so up until she experienced some health challenges. Throughout the years she strove for self-improvement and took educational courses. She was strong and she was a fighter. Joyce is survived by her daughter Chris Thomas (Vaughn); sister-in-law Linda Nielsen; special nephews Les (Brenda), Lorne (Donna) and Blake (Myrna) Nielsen; Richard’s son Wesley (Connie) Wunder as well as cousins and great nieces and nephews. Richard (Dick) recently passed away on August 23, 2017 and his funeral was on August 30th one week prior to Joyce. It seems fitting that as they travelled many places together in life that they take their final journey together. A Celebration of both their lives will be held at Good Shepherd Lutheran Church, 3825 Hillsdale Street, Regina, SK, on Saturday, September 9, 2017 at 3:30 p.m. In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in their memory to either the Heart and Stroke Foundation or the Regina Humane Society. Special thanks to the nursing staff and social workers in Unit 6F at the General Hospital for keeping the two together while they were in the hospital during the month of June.

Nos plus sincères sympathies à la famille et aux amis de Joyce
