Obituary for Joyce Volaine
Elizabeth Joyce Volaine 1928-2017: Following a stroke in the morning of December 21st, Joyce spent her last days surrounded by love and family at the Brampton Civic Hospital, until she decided it was time to peacefully end her journey in the early hours of December 26th. Joyce will be missed by her husband of 63 years, George; her daughter and son-in-law Michelle & Mike; her three granddaughters Chantel, Robyn and Cassie; and all of her loving family.
This was Joyce’s second stroke in 5 years. She was given the gift of an independent and full life by the devotion and strength of her loving husband, George. It was through his gentle care that she was able to share her last wonderful years at home with him and close to her beautiful granddaughters.
Joyce was most loved for her quirky and wonderful sense of humor as well as her unwavering devotion to her family. Fondly referred to as “Queen Buzzlebum” by her granddaughters, she has left us with many precious memories of her endless laughter and love. She took great joy in the peaceful beauty of nature, and some of her fondest moments were the many camping adventures she shared with George and Michelle. We are comforted by the knowledge that she is now forever camping in the beauty of the Muskoka Woods, in her Granny Smith Apple trailer.
As per her wishes, there will not be a Memorial Service at this time. Joyce’s family has been impacted by both Crohn’s and Colitis; if you wish to honor her memory with a donation, please support the Crohn’s and Colitis Foundation of Canada.
