Joyce Marguerite Hamilton – 84, of
Yarmouth, passed away peacefully on November 28, 2017 in Shannex
– Blomidon Court, Greenwich, NS. Born on May 16, 1933 in
Yarmouth, she was a daughter of the late Margaret Brannen and Harry
Nickerson. Joyce was a loving mother, grandmother and devoted wife of
57 years to her husband Warren Hamilton (predeceased). Joyce spent a
life seeing Canada, moving frequently with her husband who served in
the Canadian Armed Forces. Upon retirement, she returned to
Raynardton, Yarmouth County where she resided and enjoyed her pets,
needle pointing and most of all, her family. In later years Joyce and
Warren moved to Dartmouth to be closer to her family. Joyce was a
graduate of Mount Allison University. In her early life she worked in
offices until becoming a mother. She returned to the workforce later
in life working at Sears in Digby. Joyce is survived by her sister,
Lorna Baxter, Ottawa; son, Wayne (Sandra), Kentville, NS; and
daughter, Wendy Hennick, Dartmouth, NS; three grandchildren, Katie
Hamilton, Kentville; Brett Hennick (Maisie Demerchant), NB; and Daniel
Hennick, Dartmouth. She will be missed by many nephews, nieces. There
will be a spring interment in the Yarmouth Mountain Cemetery for her
immediate family. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made
to the charity of your choice. Arrangements have been entrusted to the
White Family Funeral Home and Cremation Services,
Kentville.
