Joyce BURKE – 2017

BURKE, Joyce Annette (nee Meredith) 1943 – 2017 – surrounded by her loving family at the Norfolk Hospital Nursing Home, Simcoe on Tuesday, January 24th, 2017 in her 74th year. Cherished wife of David Burke of Vittoria. Beloved mother & grandmother of Annette Burke-Ma (Fred) of Calgary, children Sarah & Thomas; Rick Burke (Jo-Anne) of Simcoe, children Lee-Anne Bertrand (Keith Pugh) and Brandie-Lee Bertrand (Ryan Long). Adored great grandmother of Kayden. Joyce will be sadly missed by her siblings Bernice Davis (late David) of Lampton, Melba Kantor-Harmon (late Ernest) of Simcoe, Donna Thompson (Bob) of Simcoe, Nancy Thompson (Gary) of Simcoe, Jim (Susan) of Lambeth, Edwin (Nan) of St. Thomas, Douglas of Simcoe and Clark (Nancy) of Grimsby. Joyce will be lovingly remembered by her aunt Vivian Woodford of Oakville, sister-in-law Mary Meredith of London and by many nieces, nephews & extended family. Friends are invited to share their memories of Joyce with her family at the JASON SMITH FUNERAL CHAPEL, 689 Norfolk St. North Simcoe for visitation on Thursday, January 26th, 2017 from 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. A funeral service will be held in the chapel on Friday morning at 11:00 a.m. with Rev. Brian Elder officiating. Interment of Ashes: Lynnville Cemetery at a later date. Those wishing to donate in memory of Joyce are asked to consider the Alzheimer’s Society of Haldimand-Norfolk.
