Obituary for Josephine Ann Wilson (nee Whiteley)
It is with deep sadness that the family of Josephine Ann (Jo-Ann) Wilson announces her passing on Tuesday, February 28, 2017, at the age of 79 years. Jo-Ann will be lovingly remembered by her husband of 60 years, Gerry and her children, Phil (Lori), Janice (Tim) and Joe (Kim). Jo-Ann will be fondly remembered by her three grandchildren, Joni, Patrick and Jacob and by her brother Bill. She was predeceased by her granddaughter Jordan. Jo-Ann was an avid horse woman, riding from the time she was a young girl. As President with Fort Calgary Wheel & Runner Association, she organized and rode for over 30 years in the Calgary Stampede Parade and many southern Alberta rural area parades. She enjoyed the Fun Country Riders gymkhanas twice honoured with Best Sportsman award. In her later years, she took pleasure spending time with her friends in the Indus Live Wires, a senior’s club. A Celebration of Life Service will be held at McDougall United Church (8516 Athabasca St SE) on Friday, March 10, 2017 at 11:00 am.
