Obituary for Joseph Stanley Borkosky
BORKOSKY, Joseph Stanley – October 29, 2017 in his 98th year. Quietly at D.H. Rapelje Lodge. Predeceased by his wife of 63 years, Cassandra (2010) and daughter-in-law Jill (2014). Lovingly remembered by son Jim, daughter Arlene Irvine (Dave), granddaughters Kim Albano (Bruno), Lori Michaud (Dave), Alyssa Jovanovic (Vlad) and great grandchildren Emily Albano, Odin Albano, Mason Michaud and Abby Jovanovic. Also survived by many nieces and nephews.
Joe was born in Welland and grew up on Deere Street until he joined the army. He was a WWII veteran and proudly lived in Welland almost all of his life. He owned his own Business, Joe’s Auto Service at Clare’s Corners and worked at Plymouth Cordage, Town of Crowland, MacLean Motors, Atlas Steel, Frontier Motors in Niagara Falls New York, City of Welland and Fleet Aircraft in Fort Erie. Dad loved golfing, bowling and playing euchre with many clubs and was an avid hunter, fisherman and outdoorsman. He loved the north and, spending many years at his cottage on Bear Lake. He and his wife Cass were involved in the executive of many local organizations including senior’s organizations such as the Friendly Club. Joe was directly involved in the creation and executive of the Fraternal Order of Eagles in Fort Erie.
