Joseph Grant “Grantie” MacPherson, age
73, North Grant, Antigonish Co., passed away Sunday,
December 4th, 2016 at St. Martha’s Regional Hospital,
Antigonish, NS. Born in Antigonish, he was a son of the late
Duncan and Mary Lil (Grant) MacPherson of Morven, Antigonish
County. He worked at road construction all his life, most
recently for Dexter Construction.
Grantie is survived by his wife Anne Marie (MacGillivray),
son Jamie (Kelli) and grandchildren Rhea and Taylor of North
Grant, brothers Robert (Helen), John (Mary Jean), sisters
Anna MacDonald, Margie (Bob) Jackson, Florence, Marian and Donna
(Bernie) Delorey all of North Grant, sisters-in-law Ronnie MacNeil and
Lynn MacGillivray of Antigonish. He was predeceased by son
and daughter, Grant and Anne Marie in infancy, brother Douglas
MacPherson, brothers-in-law Ronnie MacGillivray and Joe
MacDonald.
Visitation 2-4 and 7-9 pm Wednesday, December 7th, at
MacIsaac Funeral Home, 61 Pleasant St., Antigonish. Funeral Mass 11:00
am Thursday, December 8th at St. Ninian’s Cathedral,
Antigonish. Burial to follow at St. Ninian’s
Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to a
charity of your choice.
