Obituary of John Prentice
PRENTICE, John
Passed away peacefully in his sleep, on Tuesday, June 20, 2017 at Freeport Health Centre, just short of his 90th birthday.
John is survived by his beloved wife of 64 years Catherine, his daughter Heather (Tony) McCoy and son Brian (Corie) Prentice, granddaughters and great-grandchildren: Stephanie McCoy and her daughter Teiryn and Kelly (Mike) Bulgarelli and their children Tanner and Mya. John is also survived by his sisters Jean Marshall and Sheila Donald in Scotland. Predeceased by a sister May Saunders.
During his career, John owned and operated Heritage Yarns in St. Jacobs now “A Touch of Scotland”. He was proud to pass on the family business to his granddaughter Kelly. John & Catherine were both very involved in Scottish Country Dancing where Catherine was an instructor for 50 years.
Friends are invited to share their memories of John with his family during visitation at the Erb & Good Family Funeral Home, 171 King St. S., Waterloo, on Monday, June 26 from 11:00 am to 12:45pm. The funeral service will follow in the chapel of the funeral home at 1:00 pm. A reception will be held in the Fireside Reception Room of the funeral home.
